Our new number one Chinese restaurant! Drove by and the smells of delicious food stopped us cold in our tracks. This is a must try!
Very tasty. Friendly owners.
Nice “no frills” simple place like anywhere in Southeast Asia or Greater China!! Nice Owners!!Seems mostly a takeout joint. I come here to take/out dumplings and then we make a great soy-vinegar-chili sauce at home to go with a glass of wine (as they serve no beer or wine here). The food is quite decent and freshly prepared at each order!! The hot & sour soup is excellent and so is their shrimp with lobster sauce.
Great garlic sauce
It smelled so good driving by that we had to stop and eat there. The servings were huge and the food delicious.
Our group, made up mostly of teenagers on their way home after a competition and mentors, arrived at closing time. When the owner saw us, she re-opened and took our orders patiently and with care. The food was tasty and hot.
The szechuan style beef combo is excellent. The dumplings are good for lunch. Consistent food and good brown rice
I love this place. I would 100% recommend the Teriyaki chicken.
Excellent
I love their crab rangoons. You can actually taste crab and scallions in it. They're super yummy. And the young man who works there is always very nice. :-)
Good food, freshly prepared and fast service
Good food and fast service. If you are in the mood for Chinese takeout then this is not a bad option, especially with being in the middle of VT.I know most people won't agree but Chinese food is comfort food to me, always reminds me of NYC. PS. NYC Chinese food is #1 in my opinion.
Food was just okay,
Good place at main Street love Chinese food
Had great General Tso’s chicken and fried rice with good service.
Four stars, probably the best in the area, certainly runs circles around yummy wok in Hardwick.
Small portions, really small on the pupu for 2.
To other reviewers who have referred to "loud Mandarin drama" in the restaurant: I think these folks mostly speak Cantonese. Shout out to Jackie!
NYC style Chinese take out. Inexpensive lunch specials and the usual expected take out fare for when you want to scratch the itch for Lo Mein and General Tso's.
I've had good experiences at China Star so far. It's a takeout Chinese food joint and, for takeout, the food is exactly what you'd expect. It's nothing to rave about, but the place is above average compared to similar restaurants for sure. After living in south Texas for three years and having one horrible experience after another at takeout Chinese restaurants it was nice to finally have some decent crab Rangoon. I usually judge takeout Chinese by their General Tso's chicken and egg rolls, and found both of those menu items to be very satisfying. I'll probably call in an order every month or so :)
I wish they delivered.
Always friendly and never disappointed with the food.
Fast, good and friendly. All the greatest things for a local restaurant.
Not fantastic, but good for a quick meal!
Reasonable prices and decent food for take out. They are always quick!
Ok American Chinese food
It's what you'd expect
Basic American style chinese food
Where else can 1 get bourbon chicken frm an Chinese/American fast-food takeout joint...oh yeah, in Northfield!
Fast and Hot
Decent foods :) Really enjoyed the Lo mein!
Good take out. I always get the chicken.
Great food
Fast food Chinese What's not to like? It's like the ones at the mall, decent food
Some of the best Chinese food we ever have had
This about your typical american Chinese restaurant. Lunch specials are very reasonable and its very consistent. I tend to visit here at work once every couple weeks.
Yummers says it all!
Twas litten as a kitten😘😘😘
Best in at least 15 miles. Only the Asian fusion place in barre can come close and they cost much more. Best lo mein, fried rice, spring and egg rolls, and chicken of any kind. General tso is actually chicken not just bread like the house of tang. Just wish they had some kind of fried potatoes. I've been going here for over 20 years and the consistency hasn't changed.
The owner of this shop is very rude and gives an uncomfortable atmosphere when ordering and picking up food. Other then that, the food is decent.
Good food & reasonable time to make take-out👍👍
Very yummy my family's been going ever since I was young our fav chinese place.
Fast service... Ok food. Not my favorite but it hit the spot.
